A Foodie Guide to Valentine’s Day 2022 in Dallas

Last year’s heart-filled holiday was pretty much freezing, but Valentine’s Day 2022 is shaping up to be exciting and delicious, and not just because we’ll have electricity and water (crossed fingers).

Want to take your darling out for a nice dinner, then check out our top 100 restaurants list for some great ideas. Or the Top 100 bars works too. But how about unique experiences this year, like goat yoga, a wine walk or a cocktail-making class? Whatever the mood of your valentine, galentines, bros, or foodie circle, Dallas is back with plenty to do on Valentine’s Day weekend.


Dallas Chocolate Tour
Location: Varies by tour
Dates: Friday February 11 to Monday February 14
Price: Tours start at $58 per person

Valentine’s Day-themed tours, including the “Decadent Valentine Dreams” Chocolate Tour, Galentine’s Experience, Valentine’s Tacos and 3 Margaritas Tour, and My Vegan Valentine Tour, will be held during the special weekend. Tours include coach travel, food, drink, and photo ops.

Beer My Valentine Deep Ellum Bar Crawl, by Dallasites101
Location: Deep Ellum, with departure location at Deep Ellum Distillery (2880 Clover St)
Date and time: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday February 12.

Price: $15 per person (tickets must be purchased online in advance)
Dallasites101’s 5th Annual Beer My Valentine Bar Crawl will take over Deep Ellum. Crawlers will receive a card, souvenir item and wristband to get drink specials at more than a dozen neighborhood bars, including Dot’s Hop House, Electric Shuffle, Booty’s Street Food, Yellow Rosa and Trinity Cider.

Valentine’s Day Chocolate and Wine Walk through Historic Downtown Mckinney
Location: Historic Downtown McKinney
Date and time: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, February 12
Price: $30 GA, $45 VIP (excluding service charge + tax)

More than 20 boutiques will take part in this gentle tour of downtown McKinney. Check in to the McKinney Performing Arts Center, grab your souvenir wine glass, and enjoy 10 wine tastings and four chocolates. The GA option offers three hours of check-in while VIP attendees get flexible all-day check-in and two additional wine tastings, a chocolate tasting and a mystery bonus tasting.

Sweetheart Wine Trail in Historic Downtown Grapevine
Location: Historic Downtown Grapevine
Date/Time: 11am-6pm, Saturday February 12
Price: $45 advance tickets, $50 at the door (if available)

Messina Hof Grapevine Winery, Grape Vine Springs Winery, Sloan and Williams Winery, Bull Lion Winery, and Landon Winery will take part in this Grapevine Valentine’s Day Wine Walk. Registration includes a commemorative glass of wine, three wine tastings of your choice plus wine pairings, and you can go at your own pace.

Chocolate Class in Dallas by Chef Zach Townsend

Chef Zach Townsend has been a chocolate connoisseur for over 25 years and offers various courses for Valentine’s Day weekend and year-round. Group classes include chocolate truffle rolling and a chocolate baking party, and couple classes focus on decadent recipes such as chocolate tarts, black forest cakes and verrines of chocolate mousse White.

Central Market Cooking School
Location: Central Market Dallas Lovers Lane (5750 East Lovers Lane)
Date/Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Monday, February 14
Price: The course is $180 for two, register on Eventbrite

Central Market will be holding its demonstration class, “A Special Dinner for a Special Person”, where you and your special someone can relax and watch the meal being prepared for you. The menu includes deviled crab cakes, prime rib roast, whipped potatoes, green beans and blackberry cobblers. More themed courses at this location as well as the Preston Royal and Plano locations are available year-round, which include seafood, steakhouse and dessert.

Cupid’s Burlesque Cabaret Dinner at the Commons Club

Take your schmoopsie-poo to a burlesque dinner party for a night no one will soon forget. Standard and premium seats are available. It will sell out, so book quickly.

Valentine’s Day Movie Night and Ice Cream Sandwiches at Scoops N Buns in Garland
Location: Scoop N’ Buns, 507 W. Walnut St. (Garland)
Date: 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., Monday, February 14
Price: Adults $12, Children $5

This former thrift shop turned ice cream shop in downtown Garland will play Disney’s new favorite, Encanta, at 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Hot chocolate will be served for children, charcuterie and wine for adults and popcorn for all. They will also be offering a BOGO special on ice cream sandwiches and a kissing photo booth.

Don’t look at us sideways. If your date can appreciate the cultural phenomenon that is Waffle House, you have a caretaker. Delicious Dallas Desserts

Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie in West Village: The French patisserie celebrates Valentine’s Day with heart-shaped desserts of all kinds, including cakes, macaroons and brownies.

Chocolate Secrets at Oak Lawn: Chocolate Secrets will host an annual four-day Valentine’s Day event featuring four desserts, live music and champagne. Check their website for more details, as they are still working out all the details at the time of publication.

CocoAndre Chocolatier in Bishop Arts District: The Mexican-American family chocolate shop offers two specialty flowers and chocolate. The “Flower Pot” is a nine-piece truffle box, strawberry Champagne, dulce de leche, drinking chocolate, molinillo and a chocolate heart. The “Bouquet of Flowers” includes a box of nine pieces, a Roseberry chocolate bar and 1 Setenta chocolate bar. The flowers are from their collaboration with Castillo de Flores.

Cookie Society at Frisco: The Frisco Shop with Texas-sized cookies will feature personalized heart-shaped cookie cakes as well as their special February cookie flavors for Valentine’s Day. Be on the lookout for their second store opening soon in Addison.

J. Rae’s Dallas on Lovers Lane: This family-run bakery offers a Valentine’s Day-themed cookie decorating set February 1-14. Each box costs $35 and comes with nine cookies in themed shapes, three bags of frosting, and sprinkle packets. Call 214-654-0833 to reserve your box at least 24 hours in advance.

Merienda Monster: Vegan bakery run by Minda Rocha serves up Valentine’s Day conchas, available in Love Swirl Vanilla, U-BAE Purple Yam and Black Vanilla flavors, and shaped like hearts, roses, a big letter I HEART YOU for the one you love, and a big letter FU for the one you don’t like so much. Pre-orders must be completed by Feb. 5, followed by Irving pickup and DFW delivery between Feb. 8-14.

Val’s Cheesecakes in Lower Greenville: Dallas locals’ favorite cheesecake spot features their sweetheart’s basket, which includes a variety of Val’s candies, two tubs of cheesecake, wine, a bouquet of flowers , a candle and ground coffee. Place your order in advance and pick it up between February 11 and 14.
