It’s no secret that South Australia’s love of exploring all that’s new across the state. Boasting amazing local food, wine and businesses, we’ve compiled a list of all the new restaurants that have opened in the last month. In addition to the new restaurants, we’ve also included some new desserts and cafes, for low-key days.

lombra

Lombra is the team’s latest Italian destination behind Bocelli on Hutt Street and Est Ovest on Angas Street, with owner Davide La Scala at the helm. Lombra will offer Italian cuisine inspired by the Italian region of the Amalfi Coast and Campania. The drinks menu will recall the Venetian bar season.

With the success of the Campbelltown location, Zayt and Zaatar decided to open up in a new corner of the country in West Lakes. Zayt and Zaatar are proud of Lebanese gastronomy, with flavors and recipes inherited from previous generations.

Valentino’s recently opened its doors in the heart of the city, so get ready to sample your favorite pastries and pizzas at this stunning new venue. ‘Tavola Calda’, which translates directly to ‘hot table’, is an Italian charcuterie and antipasto bar, bringing you some of the best Italian food Adelaide has to offer!

Good news for all sushi lovers in Oaklands Park, Kintaro Sushi are new residents of the Fresh Food Mall in Westfield Marion. Cuisine, Bec Hardy Wines

McLaren Vale Cellar Door, Bec Hardy Wines, expanded its visitor experience in April with the launch of a new dining experience, The Kitchen at Bec Hardy. With a philosophy of all things local, seasonal and sustainable, the kitchen is now open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hong Tam

Hong Tam, aka Pho Hong Tam, is now expanding its reach with the opening of an additional location in Salisbury. The restaurant specializes in Vietnamese beef noodle soup (Pho) and other traditional Vietnamese dishes.

Press Gastronomy & Wines

Press Food and Wine is not technically new BUT the restaurant has completed its latest renovations and it looks really great. Alongside the fantastic renovations, talented chef Tom Tilbury has launched a brand new menu, which debuted on Wednesday 13th April.

After Luciano’s unfortunate closure at the end of last year, the luxurious Marina Restaurant has reopened with new owners, a new kitchen team and a fresh outlook. Luciano’s is known for its signature dish – a homemade gnocchetti with South Australian crab, tomato, chilli and mascarpone.

Although not “new” as such, the popular Italian restaurant down the alley has undergone a complete facelift, from paint to pasta, with authentic Italian cuisine at the forefront. The dreary interior has been painted, opened up, tiled and styled. Large windows, concrete floors, and white tiled walls make the space open and inviting with a casual bistro-style layout.

May 7 marked the grand opening of one of Adelaide’s newest dessert restaurants, The Dessert Factory. The restaurant’s offerings include individual cheesecakes, cakes, cupcakes, chunky shakes, sinful smoothies, as well as the Divine Sound Cake Bucket!

Saudade Custard Tarts

Saudade, Adelaide’s favorite Portuguese cream pie purveyor, has finally opened its exciting new store at the Grote Street entrance to the Central Market. After running a wildly successful brick and mortar boutique in Mitcham Square shopping centre, it’s great to see Saudade come full circle by opening his second store in the place where it all started.

Ballaboosta

Mediterranean cuisine meets Middle Eastern at one of Adelaide’s favorite little CBD cafes, Ballaboosta. The little cafe, which is currently located in a converted laundromat on Halifax Street, has now set its sights on a second location in Burnside.

Opening scheduled for the end of May.
