AmaWaterways bolsters its wine tours with expert guides: Travel Weekly

AmaWaterways is adding wine experts to guide a new, expanded version of its themed wine cruises in Europe.

European Wine Hosts will join the cruise line’s new European Wine Immersion cruises, which are part of the company’s long-running Celebration of Wine cruises launched in 2010.

New hosts will share in-depth wine knowledge in the regions visited along the cruise route and accompany guests on shore excursions to vineyards, seasonal wine festivals and other wine-focused events on selected routes starting in August and continuing through early November.

There are more than 60 Celebration of Wine cruises that AmaWaterways will operate this year, and four of those departures will be the new European Wine Immersion cruises hosted by the wine experts. Hosts come from all over the world and most are either Wine & Spirit Education Trust certified or have spent years immersed in all things wine.

The special seven-night cruises will depart August 4, October 27 and 29, and November 8. Couleurs de Provence will sail on the Rhône, Taste of Bordeaux will sail on the Garonne and Dordogne, Paris and Normandy will sail on the Seine and Europe’s Rivers & Castles will sail on the Rhine, Main and Moselle.
