chamber of Lisbon plans a wine tasting on Saturday | News, Sports, Jobs
LISBON — The Lisbon Region Chamber of Commerce and the Lisbon Landmark Foundation will hold their fourth “Winter Wine” from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
“This winter was a winter to forget” said House Executive Director Lindsey Smoot. “Wine About Winter is a perfect way to unwind and take a break from the cold.”
Part wine tasting and part introduction to historic downtown Lisbon, “Winter Wine” has eight wine tasting stations throughout the village. Stops are Dashing Divas, Geronimo Supply, Stigmata Tattoo and Piercing, Sandy and Beaver Insurance, Almost Perfect Foundation, Young Democrats of Columbiana County, Serenity’s Way, and the Source Gallery.
All will feature Ohio wines, Smoot said. There are also three non-alcoholic stops that will include cider, donuts and cheese, Smoot said. These are the Columbiana County Republican Party, Tails of the Town and Park Avenue Parlor.
Tickets are $10 and are available by calling the chamber at 330-424-1803. Tickets will also be available at the chamber office, 120 N. Market St. All ticket holders will need to go through the chamber office to pick up their wristbands in order to participate.
The first 50 through the door will receive a complimentary commemorative wine glass courtesy of Alterations by the Clothing Surgeon. The room will also have a “draw wine” and Chinese auctions.
“We are expecting a strong turnout since last year’s event was canceled due to Covid-19,” said Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson. “Not only will attendees have the opportunity to taste eight great local wines, but they will be able to see what downtown Lisbon has to offer.”
Proceeds from the event will go towards other chamber events and work on historic buildings in the village.
