Franklin Chamber of Commerce Hosts Grand Opening of Wine Tasting Station

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce was proud to welcome the Slanted Window Tasting Station to the chamber community and family with a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Slanted Window Tasting Station is located at 587 Harrison Avenue.

The Slanted Window Tasting Station is the first and only local winery in Macon County to bottle wine.

In 2011, while restoring their 1878 farmhouse, the owners of The Slanted Window discovered a distinctive “slanted window” that had previously been covered with siding. Behind that second-story porch window, we had a great view of the sky and the vineyard.

The namesake “Slanted Window” was chosen because, according to the owners, it “gives us a break to consider different perspectives, much like the journey of winemaking and wine tasting. So pull up a chair and drink a sip, because one glass can give you a lifetime of memories.

Slanted Window wines are made from decades-old vines at SenAmore Vineyards in the ancient Appalachian Mountains. Wanting to provide a taste for locals and passers-by, the Slanted Window Tasting Station was born. Leading the way in western North Carolina winemaking, their dedication to craftsmanship and love of the land translates into every bottle. From European-style red and white wines to our Pyment (a co-fermentation of honey and grapes), The Slanted Window has a wine to please every palate.

If wine isn’t for you, they also offer local North Carolina beer and bourbon tastings. To accompany it all, their Italian-born chef has curated a menu of delicious charcuterie boards, salads, sandwiches and more.
