Gelson’s presents a virtual wine tasting with Julien Fayard | Upcoming San Diego Events

Join Gelson’s in a virtual wine tasting with Julien Fayard, one of Napa Valley’s most respected 100pt. winemaker. In Napa, Julien spent a few years at Melka Estates, honing his terroir-driven style of winemaking with distinguished French winemaker Philippe Melka. He has now started his own projects, making wine for wineries like Purlieu and Le Pich, as well as his own labels – Azur, Covert Estate and Empreinte. And, of course, projects like Gelson’s house brand wines.

The virtual tasting will take place on November 16 at 6 p.m. and will feature the following wines: Gelson’s Reserve Sauvignon Blanc ($ 21.99); Cabernet Sauvignon Gelson, Mount Veeder ($ 36.99); and Gelson’s latest Epicure Series Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain ($ 74.99). Pair one, two, or all three of these options with a Gelson’s Personalized Cheese and Deli Plate.

Admission is $ 24.99 and includes the personalized cheese and cold cuts plate for two. Meats and cheeses are specially prepared to accompany the wine. Featured Items Include: Humboldt Fog, White Apricot Stilton, Mimolette, Sartori Bellavitano with Espresso & Barbers English Cheddar Cheeses, Olli Toscano Salame, Trois Petits Cochons Duck Rillettes – served with Eddies Oak Crackers, Capers, Small Toasts, Honey Mama’s Cocoa Bar truffle, and dried apricots.

Guests can RSVP by pre-paying for Gelson’s Personalized Cheese and Cold Meat Plate at https://www.gelsons.com/Julien. The last day to confirm your attendance is November 12th. The special-priced wines, along with the cheese and cold meats platter, will be available for sale November 15-16 at Gelson’s Pacific Beach, Gelson’s Del Mar and Gelson’s Carlsbad. Final details, including the Zoom link, will be available upon registration.
