Liverpool woman’s wine business wins award and launches in America

A Liverpool entrepreneur won two awards at a chic ceremony in London.

Katherine Jones, 31, has taken the UK by storm over the past 12 months with her wine company, ThinK J Wines.

The entrepreneur, originally from Liverpool, won two silver awards for her wines at the 2021 International Glass of Bubbly Awards, held in the country’s capital.

This victory follows the growing popularity of the wine brand and its launch in the US market.

ThinK J Wines’ Prosecco and Pinot Grigio Sparkling Rose have proven popular in California, New York, New Jersey and Florida.

At home, the business has also grown rapidly, with loads of positive reviews and nearly 20,000 Instagram followers. ThinK also brought in Thomas Ridley for distribution.

This month it won two silver awards at the prestigious International Glass of Bubbly Awards.

The Glass of Bubbly Awards is an annual, world-renowned awards ceremony, judged by the top 50 wine professionals from around the world.

There were 17 categories, with ThinK taking the win by taking silver in two of them; First date and spring adventure.

The criteria for the first meeting were defined as “the perfect wine to accompany this first meeting. Nothing too complex and not necessarily a wine that must be accompanied by specific foods ”. ThinK PinK Pinot Grigio Sparkling Rose won silver in this category.

ThinK Prosecco also won the silver award in the Spring Fling category, which called for “a floral wine that expresses flowers from cherry blossom to rose petals. Imagine walking into your local florist.”

Founder Katherine saw a gap in the market for a healthier wine option, which led her to form the ThinK Wine Group in the summer of 2019.

After several trips to Italy and a lot of tweaking, a vegan, organic and calorie-reduced Prosecco and Pinot Grigio Sparkling Rose were created and ready to sell.

Katherine said, “This year has been full of surprises and incredible opportunities for ThinK. We celebrated our second anniversary this summer with the launch of our ThinK Miniatures, and I’ve been overwhelmed by the response we’ve had since the launch in America.

ThinK enjoys a growing number of online subscribers and is stocked at many premium sites across the UK, successfully surviving and thriving amid a global pandemic.
