Nisa and Co-op Host Virtual Wine Tasting for Retailers

A group of key Nisa retailers participated in a special virtual wine tasting event ahead of the key holiday season.

Designed to offer ideas and advice on what to stock for the period, the session allowed retailers to sample a selection of wines and chat with buyers and suppliers.

Co-organized by Co-op Wine Buyers and Nisa’s Category Controller, alongside representatives from Accolade Wines, key account partners were invited to taste several of the brand’s top-selling red, white and rosé wines. and the Co-op brand.

Irresistible Prosecco, Irresistible Fairtrade Organic Malbec and Irresistible Fairtrade Sauvignon Blanc from Co-op were all presented alongside Jam Shed Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc from Mud House and a premium French rose from Studio by Miraval.

Retailers are said to have interviewed hosts on a range of topics and received information on topics such as Fairtrade products and accompanying wines to help boost in-store tied selling.

Matthew Hunt, Director of Filco Supermarkets and Key Account Partner of Nisa, commented: “I found the virtual wine tasting very informative, hearing where the product is coming from helps bring the quality of the liquid to life.

“As we approach the busiest commercial time of the year, the goal of our wine tasting event was to really showcase some of the best wines available and to prepare partners for the holiday season.

“The combination of private label and Co-op branded wines worked well during this session, and I think it gave partners food for thought when deciding what to store this Christmas. “
