The Waitrose wine tasting experience at home returns

During the pandemic, the Waitrose at-home wine tasting experience has gone digital – but is now set to return once again.

During the experience, guests will have the opportunity to experience the fundamentals of wine tasting with friends and family from the comfort of their own home.

Six bottles are delivered before the tasting where a wine expert will be on hand, in person, to guide guests through each wine, while providing advice on food and wine pairings. They will also host a question and answer session at the end.

Andrew Riding, Head of Drinks Experiences at Waitrose, said: “We know how much our customers have enjoyed our drinks experiences, from gin and cocktails to wine tasting, which is why it was important for us to to be able to pursue them virtually for the past two years.

“But now in-person tastings are back and we’re excited to bring those experiences to people in their homes. It’s also a great way to reconnect teams to work when we return to the office once again.

“To meet demand, we have trained nearly 50 Waitrose Partners supporting them through their Wine Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 qualifications so our customers know the experience will be first class every time.”

The service has been offered virtually since Covid-19 put an end to social gatherings, but due to their popularity they should continue as an option if you are unable to meet in person. Although online, these sessions are private and only accommodate one group of friends per event.

Waitrose Wine Tasting – how to book
