Easter. It can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For some it’s a very special time to reflect and spend time with family, for others it’s an extra long weekend filled with as many activities as possible.

And then there are those who love it for chocolate. And the hot cross buns…

April 15 | FRIDAY

15-18 APRIL EASTER FAIR

First held in 1997, the Meadows Easter Fair has become a staple of Adelaide’s Easter celebrations. This year, the event hosts over 140 specialty stalls, including gourmet products, food, crafts, plants, books, treasures and more. The fair is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day of the Easter long weekend and is the perfect way to keep the kids entertained. Don’t worry, there will be entertainment for the adults too, with Ginny Pig Distillery’s ‘Hot X Bun Gin’ up for tasting and on sale!

15-18 APRIL MELBA LONG EASTER WEEKEND

Melba’s celebrates Easter all weekend with lunch on the lawns, Melba’s hot chocolate, Mahalia coffee, milkshake, ice cream and treat yourself to an endless supply of delicious chocolates and confections. Melba’s will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with FREE DAILY family entertainment, including:

  • FREE hand & arm painting, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • FREE Balloon Creations, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Maxine’s Baked Potatoes, served 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • garden games

Melba’s has made the first-ever renowned milk chocolate Bilby, with part of the proceeds going to Zoos SA Greater Bilby Conservation. So don’t hesitate to support a good cause this long Easter weekend!

APRIL 15 ‘WINES AND GOOD MOMENTS’ GOOD FRIDAY GARDEN PARTY

Ever wanted there to be good wine and good food at a festival? That’s it. With wines selected by the National Wine Center sommelier, several upscale bars serving all your favorite drinks and small gourmet dishes prepared by an award-winning chef. April 16 | SATURDAY

APRIL 16 & 18 OAKBANK EASTER RACING CARNIVAL

Traditionally known as Australia’s best picnic racing meeting, the Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival takes place amid the scenic hills and offers families and racing enthusiasts a one-of-a-kind racing experience where you can bring your own picnic baskets, mats, deck chairs, BYO drinks and barbecues to start your long Easter weekend in style and relaxation. This event features plenty of off-track entertainment, including the “Fashion at the Races” contest, live music, on-site parking, and entertainment for kids, including sports and crafts, face painting, bouncy castles, and rides. petting zoos.

APRIL 16-18 LONG EASTER WEEKEND AT HUGO WINES

Friends and families are invited to Hugo Wines over the Easter long weekend, to unwind, relax and enjoy great wine and company of course! Saturday and Sunday there will be live music, lawn games, tastings and food trucks. Monday is a moment of relaxation, around a glass of wine and a gourmet plate.

APRIL 17 LATIN EASTER CARNIVAL

Amigos, get ready to dance the night away on Easter Sunday at one of Adelaide’s most iconic and award-winning dance and live music venues, The Gov. Latino DJ’s will present an explosive cocktail of Latin rhythms and Latino Grooves dancers will perform all night long! The evening will start with a one-hour salsa dance lesson, as a warm-up to get you into the groove.

APRIL 17 EASTER BUNNY COASTAL RACE

Get your adrenaline pumping in Semaphore this long weekend during the Easter Coastal Bunny Race. Starting at 6.30am on Easter Sunday, the race is between 10km, 21.1km and 42.2km (depending on the distance you designate). Early bird rates up to Register are always available, and attendees are encouraged to have fun and get into the Easter spirit. A trophy will be awarded at the end of all race events, however, the most important aspect of this event is the money that will be raised for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation as part of the proceeds will be donated #endcancer.

APRIL 17 WHISTLER WINES EASTER SUNDAY FAMILY PARTY

Whistler Wines invites you to join them for their annual Family Fun Day on Easter Sunday! Bring your picnic mat and relax on the lawns, with the full range of premium wines from Whistler Wines and live music from Brad Lee. Delicious food and drinks from Comida, a community fundraising sausage sizzle by the Nuriootpa Netball Club and Mrs Sippy Cafe will be available.
