What you can expect from our wine tasting dinner

Our highly anticipated French Wine Tasting Dinner will take place on Thursday November 17th.

Availability is still limited for this sensational dining experience, so be sure to join us at the 1875 Club for what will be a very special evening.

Tickets for this exclusive event are just £65 and seating is limited.

James Fineman, director of wine development at St Austell Wines, describes what people can expect at night.

“The Cricket Club held a similar event last year and the food was absolutely sensational, so those who attend are sure to be culinary delighted. The wines chosen are also excellent, so it promises to be a food and wine feast!

“French wines have been specifically selected to accompany and complement each dish. When choosing a wine to pair with a dish, it’s not necessarily about focusing on the main ingredient, you need to look a little deeper into the other ingredients and flavors that are used. It could very well be that the subtle use of a spice completely changes the taste profile of the dish. This is the key area to examine.

“The wine you have can make a big difference in a dish. The key is to find a wine that complements the dish. You don’t want the wine to overpower the flavors of the food, nor do you want it to be the other way around. Food and wine can enhance each other and bring out the best in each other.

“Anthony Davis of Metzendorff will host the evening and he has been in the industry for a long time. He is very knowledgeable about food and wine. He will introduce each wine at the start of each course and explain a bit more about it, its production and why it was selected.”

The evening menu has been specially created by our team of executive chefs, and in order to complement each dish, each dish will be expertly accompanied by excellent wine by an experienced sommelier.

There will also be live background music which will set the perfect mood for what will be an unforgettable night.

Dress code = Classy.
