Local artist Patricia Hines works with materials taken from the Darling Scarp environment where she lives. Visitors to Ameliorate, on display at the Lost Eden Creative Gallery in Dwellingup, will give attendees the opportunity to observe and appreciate the fragile beauty of the region which faces threats from so many sources. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday to Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

RU okay? Planting day

Landcare SJ, along with Murray County, Peel-Harvey Catchment Council, Doral and Plantrite Nursery are hosting a community and corporate tree planting day and morning tea for a conversation start. The Planting Day and Morning Tea Event takes place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Georges Brook, Pinjarra and is open to all communities and businesses. Grand local football final

Meet at Rushton Park on Saturday to watch the Colts, Reserves and League Grand Finals. At 9:35 am, Halls Head and Rockingham will face off in the Colts Division. The Reserves Grand Final between Rockingham and Pinjarra will start at 12:10 pm. South Mandurah and Rockingham will fight for first place in their final at 2:35 pm.

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Mandurah Over 55’s Kayak Club is organizing a trial day for anyone interested in learning to kayak or joining the club. All necessary equipment will be provided at Osprey Waters Foreshore Reserve. The event will be followed by the sizzling of sausages.
