Wine Tasting Benefiting Brooke County Animal Shelter | News, Sports, Jobs


WELLSBURG — Area residents will have the opportunity to sample an assortment of wines and enjoy a variety of music and food while helping out the Brooke County Animal Shelter this weekend.

Top Flight Security, a Moundsville company that provides security guards for various events, and insurance agency Fahey-Leavitt have teamed up to present a wine festival from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at Wellsburg’s Fourth Ward Park, near 27 and Charles Streets.

Admission is $40 for the event, which includes five wine samples produced by Wheeling’s Moss Farms Winery and live music by a wide range of local talent.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the animal shelter.

Friday’s entertainment will include the Roger Hoard Jazz Quartet at 6 p.m. and 7 South at 9 p.m. Saturday’s lineup includes Pocket Change at noon, Chuck Lucas at 2 p.m., Stevie Lynn at 4 p.m., Tongue n’ Cheek at 6 p.m., and Bon Journey (a Bon Jovi and Journey tribute band) at 9 p.m.

Disc jockey Daner will serve as master of ceremonies on both days.

Saturday’s festivities will also include a vintage car show, hosted by the Ohio Valley Street Survivors, from noon to 3 p.m.

Marty Sansone, co-owner of Top Flight Security, said food vendors will sell an assortment of edibles on both days.
